Long time...

It has, indeed, been a very long time since I have posted anything. I think that's mostly because I have almost no spare time...and the spare time I do have, I prefer to spend either sleeping or watching totally brainless, yet intelligent, comedic TV shows and movies (like Scrubs, for example). But, here I am, procrastinating yet again. I hate papers. Especially papers about really complex theories that you think you understand...but then, when you begin to research them - really research them - they become infinitely more confusing. This theory is the bane of my current existence. I hate it, and I hate trying to write a paper about it even more.

The good news, however, is that the new manager of the store where I work got fired! Yay! It's about freakin' time! No one liked him, and no one has since he started back in November. Several people recently quit. The note they sent to the store employees stated that he, "didn't fit into the synergistic approach" they have to the running of their retail establishments. Amen to that one! I never have to hear his voice or see his fat ugly face again! Never again will I have to hear him expound on the glories of the Bible or George W. Bush! It was, indeed, a good day at work. :)

But then I have to come home and work on this freaking paper. This paper that I hate! Hate! Hate! Hate is a very strong word, and I intend to emphasize its strength when I say that I HATE THIS PAPER!

Okay. Enough venting.

On to more important things.

So, ever since I turned 28 a few weeks ago, I decided that I needed to compile a list of things to accomplish before I turn 30. I think this need has something to do with the fact that, for the first time, I feel like I'm getting old. 28 is not particularly old, I know, but I suddenly feel like I can almost taste the finite number of years I have left in front of me. In an effort to control the scariness that accompanies such a taste, here goes. In the next two years, I hope to:

1. Get a master's degree (hee hee. You have to set at least ONE goal that you know you're going to accomplish.)
2. Learn Spanish - or, at least, get a good start on learning Spanish.
3. Purchase and learn to use a real camera - not a digital, or an automatic, but the real McCoy. I am really drawn to black and white photography.
4. Hike rim-to-rim at the Grand Canyon.
5. Learn (and frequently make!) my grandmother's cherry pie recipe.
6. Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
7. Go to Hawaii (hee hee. That's another one of those I threw in there because I know it's going to happen...in fact, it's going to happen right after #1. But it has been a goal of mine for a while. Honest.)
8. Be well on my way towards licensure.
9. Stay in a yurt on the Oregon coast in the winter time and watch the storms.
10. Participate in National Novel Writing Month.

I think that's enough. I don't want to set too many goals and then have too many left uncrossed-out (nice word invention!). That would be depressing.

Okay. Back to my paper now. Help me!
